News, information and resources about Accuro Home Care and the Home Care industry.

Castle Personnel

Accuro Homecare is now working with Castle Personnel to make available to our all of our workers, the government funded Work Assist program. Work Assist is a free service to employers with staff who have difficulty performing their role due to an injury, disability or health condition. Castle Personnel, under this program, will provide experienced Employment Support Managers who will develop strategies and provide advice and assistance for at least 6 months to help improve a persons ability to perform their duties.

NDIS Client, Hilda

Hilda was diagnosed with MS many years ago and normal day to day tasks became more difficult for her over time. 18 months ago, after a fall, Hilda and her husband, Gary, decided it was time to seek supports.

Gary wanted a local provider but had trouble finding one with availability. He contacted Accuro Homecare. We were able to provide the supports they needed when they needed.

Brydie, one of our Direct Support Workers

Brydie may be young, but during her short time as a Direct Support Worker she has proven herself to be a reliable, professional and honest worker who is loved by her clients.

She chose to be a Support Worker because, like many in the industry, she loves to help others and make a difference in their lives.

Cecily, an NDIS client

Cecily is a mother of 3 and a Nanna to 4 who worked at Centrelink for 16 years. After a stint in hospital, Cecily was on a 6 week Compack program with another home care organisation who brokered the services to Accuro Home Care. After this, she was granted NDIS funding and was able to choose her own care provider. She chose Accuro.

Cheryl - Compacks to NDIS

At the beginning of Cheryl's NDIS experience, she found that many of the agencies recommended to her would rarely return her calls in a timely manner. After a stay in hospital, Accuro Home Care provided her services under a Compacks program for 6 weeks in her home. When her Compacks program had finished, she asked us to provide her services as an NDIS client.

NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

The NDIS Quality Safeguards Commission have released an online interactive course to better help those providing supports to NDIS participants. The course, consisting of 4 separate modules, encourages workers to consider and respond to a variety of scenarios in the context of supporting people with disabilities.

Paul, an Accuro Homecare client

Paul is 53 years old and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 19. Luckily he had Carol to care for him 24 hours a day but as his condition gradually declined, Carol struggled to care for Paul on her own. They decided to seek government assistance to get help with Paul's personal care and to give Carol some much needed respite.

NDIS Client

Sharon resides in Toronto but grew up in Newcastle. She became a client of Accuro Home Care in 2015 on a Compacks program for help after a trip to hospital for surgery. Sharon is now an NDIS participant and continues to use our services.

"I have 2 lovely grandchildren and I love spending my time doing crosswords, cooking, reading and watching rock and roll bands. During my time with Accuro Home Care I have found they and their Direct Support Workers to be understanding of my needs and flexible to my requirements."
